Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve Safari

Who this is for

High hills west of Pokhara: Dhorpatan reserve for blue sheep country and open meadows. Multi-day package.

Dhorpatan is Nepal’s hunting reserve turned wildlife / meadow safari west of Pokhara — higher and cooler than Chitwan, with jeep and lodge or camping nights. Blue sheep and high pastures are the draw; this is not a tiger park. Typical package is four to six days; we hold five. Transfers and park fees are itemised in the quote.

Difficulty and altitude

Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve Safari is a Moderate walk of 5 days, with a high point around 3000 m. We pace for acclimatisation, not a brochure summit morning.

Best time to go

Typical season: March–May & September–November. October–November and March–April are the classic Himalayan windows. We close or reroute when cloud and rain make the view a fiction.

Permits and what is included

Annapurna routes include ACAP and usually TIMS, processed in Pokhara. Restricted valleys (Mustang, Manaslu, Tsum, Nar Phu) add a RAP filed through immigration. The quote lists permit days; there is no surprise at the checkpoint.
